Since 2003, using proceeds from online sales of donated books, Books Beyond Borders has helped fund educational and community initiatives throughout Central America. As the major underwriter of Project Schoolhouse, Books Beyond Borders finances the essential administrative expenses of the organization—rent, office supplies, telephone, internet, and mailings for fund-raising projects—which allows nearly 100% of Project Schoolhouse’s donations to directly fund their initiatives.  Books Beyond Borders has donated over 3,000 hours of labor and has been the lead donor for Project Schoolhouse’s first two school-building projects in the Rio Blanco region of Nicaragua.

Books Beyond Borders also recently began a donation-based book exchange program in Austin-area coffee shops, which gives 100% of its proceeds directly to Project Schoolhouse projects. Concurrently, we are hard at work raising resources to help Project Schoolhouse build five more schools in Nicaragua. With your help, we are making a difference—contributing to the childhood education and health of communities in the developing world.
